Blackburn boss Allardyce confident of swift Grella return

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce believes Vince Grella’s hamstring injury is not too bad.

The Australian international has missed the Rovers’ last two pre-season friendlies but he is expected to return to action very soon.

There was also good news coming from Grella’s compatriot Brett Emerton who is undergoing rehabilitation following a knee reconstruction.

"We had a couple of little injuries with a couple of players who didn´t take part," Allardyce told www.rovers.co.uk.

“They are only slight knocks, we are not envisaging that they´ll be any longer than a day or two.

"We are also hearing good progress on Brett Emerton back at home and Steven Reid is coming along too."
