Bisoli: Roma could not handle Cagliari intensity
Cagliari coach Pierpaolo Bisoli says AS Roma couldn't handle their intensity for Saturday's 5-1 drubbing.
The Sardinians had a sensational home debut by giving the Giallorossi their worst defeat in 61 years.
“We had prepared the game to put them under constant pressure, not allowing their style of football to develop,” explained Bisoli of the 5-1 result.
“It went entirely according to plan. When we play with this level of intensity, we put everyone in a difficult spot. Roma are a great side, but they only troubled us from dead ball situations.
“All the lads were ready to work hard and sacrifice themselves for the team. We were also hungry for goals and these were the winning ingredients.
“I told Alessandro Matri and Robert Acquafresca that they can become among the most important strikers in Italian football. Here we have first of all great men and then great athletes.”
