Birmingham to welcome back Carsley

Birmingham City veteran Lee Carsley is expected to return to training after being out of action for the past two months.

The 34-year old midfielder has been out with an ankle injury but Blues boss Alex McLeish has revealed he is on the mend and set to get back into full training.

"Lee is back to a good level and maybe next Monday he might rejoin the group in terms of training and kicking the ball again," said McLeish.

"He's been kicking it lightly, doing some running, getting some stamina back. Now it's about getting the sharpness back for him."

Carsley has managed just three Premier League appearances this season.
