Birmingham defender Taylor rejects Newcastle move

Birmingham City's Geordie boy Martin Taylor has turned down the chance to return home.

Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton offered the Birmingham City central defender the chance of a move to St James' Park.

But he could not offer Ashington-born Taylor a guaranteed first-team slot, says the People.
