Birmingham continue Pavlyuchenko talks with Tottenham

Birmingham City remain locked in talks with Tottenham for striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Birmingham City remain locked in talks with Tottenham for striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.

The Mirror says Tottenham flop Pavlyuchenko has emerged as Brum boss Alex McLeish’s top target to bolster his attack this month.

City’s initial offer of £6m for Pavlyuchenko has been dismissed by the White Hart Lane club.

But Spurs are willing to accept £8m cash up front for the out-of-favour forward, plus a number of add-ons, increasing the potential fee to £12-13m.

Birmingham are now set to return with an improved offer as Carsen Yeung is desperate for a big-name hit man to boost the club’s profile.
