Birmingham to boost backroom staff
Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is keen to secure another ‘signing’ for Birmingham City as soon as possible – to his backroom staff, reports the Birmingham Mail.
McLeish wants to appoint another physiotherapist with responsibility for prevention of injuries and niggles
The Scot explained: “Our squad may not be gigantic, which you could say makes it easier to manage.
“We’re going with 23 players now to the end of the season, including the goalkeepers.
“So it’s important we keep these guys fit and concentrate on our infrastructure to help them do that.
“An addition of another guy in the squad in terms of physiotherapy, the ‘prehab’ stuff with players who maybe have some weaknesses, who need to improve on the physical side to avoid any injuries.
“That will be crucial for us between now and May.
“Carson Yeung and the board have helped us improve the staffing levels. We’ve been able to bring in a couple of people who will – and have – made a difference. So we’re looking to keep expanding our expertise and get on a par with the status a serious Premier League club should aspire to, in those terms.”
