Birmingham to bid for Rangers pair Boyd, Davis

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is chasing Rangers pair Kris Boyd and Steven Davis.

The Mirror says McLeish is preparing to bring Davis back to the Second City with a £3million bid in the New Year.

Northern Ireland international Davis began his career at Aston Villa and McLeish is ready to test cash-strapped Rangers' resolve to keep him.

And striker Boyd is another target under consideration for Big 'Eck, who is preparing a substantial attack on the January sales.

Boyd is out of contract this summer and can speak to other clubs in January - but McLeish is weighing up a £1m cut-price deal to bring him to St. Andrew's

We would be mad to sell Boyd for a start as he can win us the title with his goals as he did last season.....Davis - would also be a big miss but if the offer is 4-5 million then we can cover as we have a lot of talented midfielders chappin at the bit to prove they are good enough ! The only player I feel we will be selling is Bougherra for aroung the 5 mill mark, not just because of the dissapearing acts but he will be too scared to kick a ball after New Year as he is in the World Cup and his country clearly means the world to him and he is disrespecting Rangers Football Club, and Walter knows no one is bigger than the Gers !
