Big crowd expected for Melbourne Victory’s AAMI Park opener

A crowd of about 25,000 is expected for Melbourne Victory’s first A-League match at Melbourne’s purpose-built AAMI Park.

The Victory have shifted from Etihad Stadium to the rectangular venue and take on Perth Glory, led by former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler, tomorrow night.

Victory general manager of operations Trent Jacobs said the club had great hopes they would continue to set the standard for A-League attendances.

“We think we might get a crowd around the mid-20s," Jacobs told the Herald Sun.

"We've got 17,000 members and we think they will be coming to have a look at the stadium, so a crowd of 24 or 25,000 would be very good."
