Bierhoff backs Dzeko for AC Milan, slates Ronaldinho
Former AC Milan striker Oliver Bierhoff has backed his old club's push for Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko.
“Dzeko scored a lot and from all kinds of different positions. He can do well. He is calm, balanced and generous,” Bierhoff told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He is not a big name, but he is ideal for Milan's economic situation. He has hunger and potential.”
When asked if Dzeko is similar to how he was as a striker, Bierhoff replied: “No, he is a lot more agile.”
Turning his attention away from Dzeko, Bierhoff then gave his thoughts on the sale of Kaka.
“I understand Milan's sensations, but a reconstruction has to base itself on these people rather than old champions or those who no longer have desire.”
On being asked if he was referring to Ronaldinho, Bierhoff replied: “I am too far away to make a judgement on the transfer strategy.
“If what you say is true, the hour to limit big spending has now arrived. If you lack the funds, you need players of a limited price, but with potential. Dzeko is one of these.”
