Berlusconi Jr: Italian-dominated AC Milan returning to glory years
AC Milan powerbroker Pierpaolo Berlusconi has highlighted how their victory over Juventus was achieved with an Italian-dominated line-up.
While Serie A leaders Inter continue to be criticised over their lack of local players, Milan are going the other way.
And Berlusconi Jr told fans: "I am pleased to note ... actually it fills me with pride to note ... that the Milan of 2010 has started so well with seven Italian players in its starting lineup: Abate, Nesta, Antonini, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Pirlo and Borriello, including three home-grown Rossoneri!!
"And should we also play Abbiati, a starter last year and I think our best keeper this year, it would be eight Italians with four players from the academy!
"For those who had not noticed, this is very similar to the great Milan teams of the past ... and the current Barcelona!"
