Benitez pleased with Ayala's Liverpool debut

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez was satisfied with the Premiership debut of Daniel Ayala in their victory over Stoke City.

Nineteen-year-old defender Ayala made his full competitive debut against the Potters - and Benitez believes he will become a better player as a result of 90 minutes alongside Jamie Carragher.

He said: "Ayala is young and it was more or less his first official game.

"He was a little bit nervous but in the end he was very good. He has to work, have more games and experience."
