Rafa Benitez is on the brink at Liverpool, it has been revealed.
The Sunday Mirror says Benitez goes into today’s clash with Portsmouth with the Reds’ season in ruins and boardroom support for him collapsing.
Liverpool have lost 15 matches in all competitions this season.
And a week in which they must overturn a 1-0 deficit against Lille in the Europa League before taking on Manchester United at Old Trafford could wreck Benitez’s last chance of silverware.
The Spaniard is just 12 months into a five-year contract and Liverpool would prefer a mutually agreed end to his six-year reign.
