Bednar hints former manager Tony Mowbray was too conservative in his approach the last time the Baggies were in the top flight.

“I want to hear that we want to win every game,” Bednar told the Birmingham Mail.

“I don’t want to play in a team that is scared of anybody.

“I am confident that we can beat anybody if we perform. Okay, we will have some bad days, and some clubs have better players so they will beat you.

“But I don’t see why we should go down again.

“I am confident if we can stay fit and keep this team together then we can finish tenth. Maybe that’s too high, but we shouldn’t get relegated.”
