Barry: Man City players united to finish in top four

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry says the squad is united behind new manager Roberto Mancini.

Rumour has been rife in a week of strife, that the axing of Mark Hughes, which provoked outrage among football men, had left some members of the squad in revolt.

But England midfielder Barry backed Mancini’s claims to the contrary when he told the Daily Star: “When it all happened, it was a shock to the players.

“But we are professionals and we will continue to give 100 per cent. We have a good squad and, if we can get the injuries cleared up, I see no reason why a top-four place is not gettable.”
