Bari coach Giampiero Ventura refused to complain after their defeat to AC Milan.

Fine volleys from Marco Borriello and Alexandre Pato helped Milan to a 2-0.

Ventura said: “That’s football. I agree with Sampdoria general manager Beppe Marotta that we should all try to calm down, focus on football and accept mistakes.

“There needs to be a balance, as if every time there’s an error we get WWIII and then straight after the team that moaned receives the benefit of the doubt, it creates a vicious cycle.

“If we had scored the penalty – which isn’t guaranteed anyway, seeing as we missed later on – then the game would’ve been more interesting, as Milan are clearly superior to Bari.

“Tonight Milan deserved it, as they are a better team, they played better and Bari ran into difficulties. Nobody is doubting that. But naturally the game would’ve changed and been a bit more balanced if there had been that penalty and red card.

“Milan worked very hard, as Pato and Ronaldinho tracked back and helped their teammates. The one time we allowed Ronaldinho a one-on-one, he created the second goal, so quality does shine through.”
