AZ Alkmaar’s Holman continues good form with Europa League goal

Brett Holman has continued his brilliant recent form, scoring for Dutch club AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.

The Australian midfielder, who netted twice for the Soceroos at the World Cup, scored in the 20th minute in Alkmaar’s 2-0 win over Kazakh club FC Aktobe Lento at the DSB Stadium.

AZ doubled their lead seven minutes later through Pontus Wernbloom to take a comfortable lead into the return leg to be played at the Aktobe Central Stadium next Thursday.

Holman came off in the 77th minute when the contest was well and truly over.
