Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has again declared coach Abel Resino is safe.

"Abel is our coach and for all of us it's been very difficult over these past few weeks," said Cerezo. "Changing the manager is virtually impossible, super hard and complicated.

"Let's give him the confidence he needs to come out of this situation. It is up to the players to play well.

"The reality is that nobody expected this. There is more to this team. It is true that we are the same as last season, we are very strong in the attacking department, but the players are nervous and it is difficult to win games like that."
