Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo says Diego Forlan should win the Ballon d'Or.

Cerezo insists Forlan's year deserves to be recognised with the honour.

"It's not because he plays on my team but that he really deserves it. Is there a player in Europe who has won two consecutive Golden Boots, a World Cup Golden Ball and World Cup top scorer?

"Forlan has had a career in the last three years which has been exceptional," said Cerezo.
