Atletico Madrid convinced Chelsea have won Pirlo race

Chelsea are closing in on AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

The London Evening Standard says the 30-year-old is also wanted by Atletico Madrid but reports in Spain say the club have pulled out of the race because they believe he is going to Stamford Bridge.

Only last week, Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti hinted a deal for Pirlo could be struck, if they were prepared to be patient.

I DUNNO IF ANYONE REMEMBERS BUT THE MIGHTY BLUES ARE TRYING TO BRING THE AVERAGE AGE OF THE SQUAD DOWN.

AND TO THOSE SAYING HE IS A MASTER THAT MAYBE BUT HE IS PLAYING IN A LEAGUE WHERE LOCAL BUSES MOVE FASTER THAN THE PLAY-PIRLO WONT SURVIVE IN THIS LEAGUE OR HAVE THE SAME IMPACT AS IN ITALY.

HE WILL BE ANOTHER DECO.
AND WHO IN THE MIDFIELD DESERVES TO BE DROPPED TO MAKE WAY FOR HIM??

MIKEL? ESSIEN? LAMPS? BALLACK? I PERSONALLY WOULD RATHER HAVE THOSE IN THE STARTIN LINE UP THAN PIRLO.

STAY AWAY FROM THE BRIDGE WE NEITHER NEED NOR WANT YOU.
