Aston Villa to swoop for Celtic winger McGeady
The Sunday Express says Villa manager Martin O’Neill has resigned himself to losing James Milner to his big-spending rivals and expects a move to Manchester City to be completed inside the next 24 hours.
The money generated from that, believed to be around £25million, will allow him to target McGeady.
And that will suit the Parkhead winger down to the ground. He has been stalling on a £10m move to Spartak Moscow since his recent visit to the Russian capital and although the terms on offer would have netted him close to £10m over three years, his preferred option has always been in England.
Now he will pray Villa do move quickly to offload Milner so he can be in place in the Midlands for the start of the season.
