Aston Villa make late move for Celtic winger McGeady

Aston Villa are making a late move for Celtic winger Aiden McGeady.

The Mirror says James Milner's exit to Manchester City is set to prompt Villa to firm up their interest in Celtic's McGeady.

But Villa will have to move fast for Republic of Ireland winger McGeady, who is due to have medical in the next 24 hours ahead of a potential move to Spartak Moscow.

McGeady has agreed terms on a tax-free contract worth a whopping £75,000-a-week net after visiting the Russian club.

He would prefer a move to Villa but the Midlands outfit have to raise funds by selling-to-buy.
