Ashley to consider two Newcastle takeover offers this week

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley expects to receive two formal bids for the club of around £90million this week.

The Mail on Sunday says one of the bidders is keen to install Alan Shearer as manager with negotiations, being brokered by banker Keith Harris, continuing.

Though Shearer's future is not yet guaranteed, he will be installed in charge of the Championship side next season if that bidder turns out to be Ashley's preferred choice.

Get a real coach! Great player does not always transpire into Good coach!

I cannot believe the bookies have Newcastle installed as favourites for the Championship. They are such false favourites and will struggle down there in the 2nd tier for quite a few years yet. It's a league for scrappers and Newcastle have too much of an arrogant attitude to cope with mixing it with the Sheffield Utd's/Cardiff/Coventry etc etc of this world. And, yes, NUFC are the new Leeds....wake up and spell the coffee, guys!

l hope its Philip Anschutz the American Billionaire. Now he would turn us into a real force.
