Zouma insists Stoke must fight for points

Stoke City defender Kurt Zouma believes everyone at the club must fight for all the available points if they are to stay in the Premier League.

Stoke City in 19th position, with 27 points from 30 games. They are level on points with 18th placed Crystal Palace, and only one point behind Southampton who are a position higher.

"We are still only one point away from moving out of the relegation zone and we know we have some very big games still to come," the French defender said to the club's official website.

"That should give us confidence and we need to use it as a platform to secure the wins we require starting with Everton at home this weekend.

"Any defeat is disappointing and yesterday is no different. We tried to press at the start of the game but their first goal really killed us - it's not easy playing against Manchester City.

"Our aim was to remain compact, defend well and press but once they scored they had more confidence and kept the ball well.

"We had two good chances, but we didn't manage to take them on the night and that's football. We have another game on Saturday and will give everything to win. It's as simple as that."
