Chelsea are in talks with Gianfranco Zola about a return to Stamford Bridge.
TMW says contact between the two parties has been ongoing for some time. The former West Ham United manager is being lined up for an assistant coaching role.
Zola's arrival would be unaffected by manager Carlo Ancelotti's situation at Chelsea.
The Blues legend would arrive to fill the void left by Ray Wilkins since his midseason departure.
