West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola has made Cardiff City winger Joe Ledley his No1 target.
The Daily Mail says the Hammers tried for the Wales international during the January transfer window but Cardiff kept their prize asset for the push for promotion to the Barclays Premier League.
The Bluebirds failed to make the play-offs and Cardiff manager Dave Jones admits they may lose Ledley this summer.
Ledley has played alongside Jack Collison, James Collins and Danny Gabbidon at international level and his style would fit in with Zola's attacking philosophy.
