Gianfranco Zola clinched a first win as Cagliari coach with victory over Cesena.

It was their first home win of the season and Zola's maiden Serie A victory since replacing Zdenek Zeman on Christmas Eve.

"It's a fantastic result and that is the most important thing about today," Zola told Rai Sport.

"I am also satisfied in terms of performance. The team desperately wanted this victory and the pressure got to them at the end, as they almost stopped playing.

"This result gives us a real confidence boost and we'll have the time to improve too."
