Zola: Arsenal youngster Bielik wants Birmingham stay

Birmingham City manager Gianfranco Zola has revealed that on loan midfielder Krystian Bielik wants to stay put at St Andrews for the foreseeable future.

Bielik joined Birmingham on loan from Arsenal during the January transfer window and the youngster has managed to impress since his arrival at the Championship club.

Zola has clearly been pleased with Bielik's performances and has revealed that the 19-year-old is keen on extending his stay with the club beyond the end of the current campaign.

The Italian said: "It's under consideration [signing him on loan next season] because obviously he is impressing.

"He is a player that every time I have played him he is doing quite well and he is getting better and better.

"We will try. But it is not only in our hands because I know Arsenal value him very, very much and it will depend if they are interested in him having another year in Birmingham.

"What I think makes the difference is they might want to give him a Premier League year before they call him back.

"But here, the good point is they know we will look after him, and I know he likes it here and would like to stay."
