Sal Zizzo has left German club Hannover 96 after his contract expired to return to his native USA for a reported MLS contract.

Sal Zizzo has left German club Hannover 96 after his contract expired to return to his native USA for a reported MLS contract.

The 23-year old has spent the past three years in Germany with Hannover and Fortuna Dusseldorf (on loan) but is now back in his homeland and will be entered into a weighted lottery to define which club he will play for.

It is likely that he will end up at either DC United or Kansas City Wizards where he will then try to get back to full fitness following a knee injury sustained last October.
