Reading owner Anton Zingarevich is determined to sign Arsenal attacker Andrey Arshavin.
The People says the 31-year-old Russian striker has been a peripheral figure in Arsene Wenger's squad this season and he looks certain to sign for Reading when the transfer window opens.
Initially, he will sign on loan until the end of the season when his contract at The Emirates expires. If Reading - currently at the foot of the Premier League - survive then Arshavin will consider a move on a permanent basis.
But if they go down, then the Russia international - who joined Arsenal for £15million for Zenit St Petersburg in 2009 - is likely to return to Russia.
