Valencia are urging Racing Santander to drop their asking price for striker Nikola Zigic.

Los Che have already agreed personal terms with Zigic's agent over a five-year contract worth £4.5 million. Valencia were originally willing to meet Racing's £10 million asking price, but after having to up their contract offer in competition with Manchester City have requested Racing shave at least £1 million off their valuation.

For their part, Racing will talk with Zigic today and urge him to drop his personal demands - or risk staying in Santander on his present £350,000-a-year deal.
