Zigic ignoring transfer talk for Birmingham stay

Nikola Zigic is determined to help Birmingham back into the Premier League at the first attempt as reports intensify of a January move. The Serbian striker has only started four league games this season and has again been tipped to be sold in January to remove his salary from the club's wage bill.

"My commitment is to Birmingham," said the 31 year old. "If I can help them I want to help.

"It was disappointing to go out of Europe but now we must change our head and concentrate on the Championship.

"We want to be back in the Premier League next season.

"We have a very good group here. If these players can stay together, then we have a big possibility of winning promotion.

"We have two games in hand and if we win them that will be good for us.

"Every point is so important at this stage."
