Zinedine Zidane insists he would take Franck Ribery over Cristiano Ronaldo every time.

Zidane has confirmed this week he will be part of Real Madrid president-elect Florentino Perez's football staff when his election is confirmed next month.

Asked about Perez's interest in Bayern Munich ace Ribery and Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo, Zidane said: "Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, obviously, he was voted the Ballon d'Or.

"He's a formidable player, but if you ask me who I prefer, I have very clear ideas: Ribery."
