Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is writing off Jesus Vallejo for this season.

Back after a year away on-loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, Vallejo was being lined up as a replacement for Pepe after his departure for Besiktas.

However, Diario Gol says the youngster has failed to impress Zidane in preseason and he now wants to shift the youngster out on-loan again for the new term.

But Real management are against sending Vallejo away again and are insisting Zidane work with the defender.

For the moment, the situation is at deadlock, with Zidane also demanding a new centre-half signing be made before the transfer deadline falls.
