Zenit St Petersburg are chasing Inter Milan striker Mauro Zarate.

Zarate is on-loan at Inter from Lazio and has struggled for minutes under coach Claudio Ranieri.

Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti, with the Russian market still open, has recommended Zarate and talks have already opened about taking over his loan from Inter for the remainder of the season.
