Zenit St Petersburg striker Eugene Starikov joins USA camp

Zenit St. Petersburg-based striker Eugene Starikov has joined the USA's January training camp. The 22-year-old arrived in Los Angeles on Thursday evening and will begin training this morning.

Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Starikov grew up in Florida and attended Stetson University before leaving in 2009 to join the 2008 UEFA Cup champions in Russia. In 2010, he spent the last half of the season on loan with Russian Premier League club Tom Tomsk, scoring one goal in nine appearances.

Starikov brings the roster total to 25 players. New York Red Bulls striker Juan Agudelo has also joined camp after spending the last five days at the U-20 MNT training camp in Ft. Lauderdale.
