Zenit St Petersburg failed with a bid for Manchester City rebel Carlos Tevez last week.

Sports.ru says Zenit made contact with City and Tevez's camp about a move to Russia during this month's transfer window.

Zenit were willing to either buy Tevez or take him on-loan, but the Argie rejected the proposal.
