Zenit St Petersburg coach Luciano Spalletti has admitted their interest in Inter Milan pair Wesley Sneijder and Mauro Zarate. The Russian transfer window doesn't shut until February 24, so there is still time for them to swoop for Serie A stars.
"Sneijder... who wouldn't want such a strong player? The Dutchman is wanted by many top level clubs, but he is currently under contract with Inter, who do not seem ready to sell.
"When we're talking about a player of Sneijder's calibre, believe me, it all becomes more difficult. Naturally we're working on the transfer market and two weeks isn't too much, but nor is it a little.
"You don't expect me to tell you all of Zenit's transfer secrets, do you?"Spalletti remarked: "As for Zarate, I can confirm he was of interest to us, but Mauro does not want to come to Russia.
