Al Nasr coach Walter Zenga admits he held talks with Inter Milan about a return.
Andrea Stramaccioni was in charge of the Nerazzurri Primavera youth team when bumped up to the role of Coach in March to replace the sacked Claudio Ranieri.
"It's true, and that was a wonderful day for me," former Inter goalkeeper Zenga told Sky Sport Italia.
"Before they promoted Stramaccioni, I received a phone call from Inter. Why did nothing come of it? There were many reasons, for example I was already under contract and Massimo Moratti never tries to poach tacticians who are already spoken for.
"There were other little details too. Now Strama is there and he is talented, young and a hard worker. I don't want to destabilise his position, as this is not the time.
"Of course Inter remain in my heart. I owe everything I became to that club, including the pride in my playing career."
