Walter Zenga is a shock contender for the Bolton Wanderers job.

Zenga has only just rescinded his contract with former club Palermo and is free to discuss terms with interested clubs.

The Bolton News says a source close to the ex-Palermo is reported to have said: "Zenga has been approached by Bolton and knowing him well, he is very open to the idea."

Zenga, aged 49, has managed a string of clubs in Europe, including Steaua Bucharest, Red Star Belgrade, Dinamo Bucharest and Palermo.

He speaks seven languages, including English, and has lived in many countries.

The source says: "England will be no problem for him."
