Bolo Zenden insists Chelsea can still make this season a success.
The Blues remain in the Europa League and FA Cup.
"There is still so much to play for and to look forward to," Blues coach Zenden told the London Evening Standard. "Trophies are always the main target and we want to make sure we win both the FA Cup and Europa League.
"We knew it wasn't going to be easy against Sparta, but we got a good result (won 1-0) to take into this season leg tomorrow.
"It's also important to get used to the new competition. The boys are used to playing in the Champions League, so when you play in a different competition it is important you get all the heads together and focus again on a new target.
"The fact that the boys went out (of the Champions League) earlier on always has a bit of an influence on the players, but you have to pick yourselves up and make sure you're up for the next challenge.
"It's still a great competition and another trophy the club haven't won yet so it's a good one to put in the cabinet. That's the way you have to look at it and I'm sure the boys are aware of that as well."
