Mauro Zarate has pledged his future to Lazio.

"I will be in Italy tomorrow to stay close to him," explained his brother and agent Sergio.

"We are sad Lazio aren't doing as well as we expected them to but this is not a good reason to say Mauro will leave them."

The former Velez Sarsfield star has been linked to several of Europe's top clubs but President Claudio Lotito won't let go of him easily.

"I have heard rumours regarding Mauro. Papers say he will leave the Olimpico next June but I can guarantee to you that this is completely false.

"My brother signed a contract with Lazio and he will respect it."
