Mauro Zarate wants a release from his contract with Lazio.

The Argentine has not played for the club since November and was reportedly fined €500,000 after he was spotted in the Maldives while on injury leave.

"It has been several days since we requested the termination of his contract and we have a great deal of documentation at our disposal," agent Luis Ruzzi told La Lazio Siamo Noi.

"I don't want to add anything more, because too much has been written on this situation already. There will be some news soon."
