Real Zaragoza midfielder Alberto Zapater was in Genoa yesterday for a medical.

The highly rated 24-year-old is regarded as one of Europe's best box-to-box midfielders and has attracted interest from Arsenal and Fiorentina.

Earlier this week, Genoa president Enrico Preziosi announced that a deal had already been agreed.

"We have an agreement with both the club and the player, and I am very confident the deal won't slip out of our hands," Preziosi said.
