Colorado Rapids new boy Luis Zapata says he is planning to force his way into the starting line-up.

The 31-year old Colombian signed with the Rapids on Friday after a three-week trial and is looking to become the Denver clubs new left-back as he continues to get accustomed to the weather in his new city.

“Denver is very cold, lots of snow,” he told MLSsoccer.com. ”But it’s very pretty, and I’m very happy to be in Denver.

“I think I can be part of the starting 11, that’s what you’re working towards. I feel very confident in working towards it, I feel good physically and for the opportunity to play and to show my ability.”
