Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti says they're "closing the gap" on champions Juventus.

Inter have been busy in the summer market, injecting hope for the new campaign.

“We hope the gap [to Juventus] will be a bit smaller," Zanetti said at a Pirelli event.

“Now our goal is to return to Europe, and we're making every effort to be competitive again.

“First we have to build a good team, then we'll talk about the pitch. The conditions are good, but we have to keep our feet on the ground.

“We'll try to start well, then we'll understand where we are as a team."
