Zamparini insists Palermo will survive without him

Maurizio Zamparini insists Palermo will survive without him.

The Rosanero president has declared he's ready to sell up.

Zamparini said: "Now I am selling Palermo. I am leaving. It's a decision I have taken for the good of the team.

"It's an irrevocable decision unless the central institutions in football change like the Lega, the FIGC and the AIA. But that won't happen in a couple of days.

"It would be enough that a referee like Banti were stopped. That way everyone would think twice about committing this vileness.

"But I am convinced that within two weeks' time he'll be sent to referee a top game as a reward. These referees aren't reliable.

"I don't like the protection that comes from the office of the 'Palazzo'. The AIA must take action against the referees who make mistakes.

"These situations should also be examined by the sporting authorities. The images are already sufficient proof to establish if certain decisions were made in good faith or bad faith.

"Explain to me why the big clubs like Milan, Inter and Juve have not had a penalty given against them for 33 games."
