Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini is excited by the talent at coach Delio Rossi's disposal.

Zamparini dubs Javier Pastore "priceless" and sees Palermo as the heirs to Sampdoria's 1990-91 Scudetto winners.

"What I see reminds me of what Paolo Mantovani did with the Sampdoria of Gianluca Vialli, Roberto Mancini and Pietro Vierchowod," the President told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Pastore and Josip Ilicic are talented players and in Serie A quality is crucial. Brescia, to name but one team, got into Europe with Roby Baggio.

"I can certainly say that in my career I have never had a side that was so young and above all so strong.

"It is the reality that comes from my philosophy over the course of the years, that this is the only road to take if you want to rival the big clubs."
