Zamora expected to be fit for Fulham's Europa League final

Bobby Zamora is expected to take his place in the Europa League final in just under two weeks time.

With Fulham progressing to the final two of the competition, manager Roy Hodgson is hopeful that his number one striker is able to get up for the clash with Atletico Madrid on May 12 after limping off just over ten minutes into the second half against Hamburg on Thursday night.

Zamora has been struggling with an Achilles injury in the past week or so but passed a fitness test to make the semi-final at Craven Cottage thanks to a pre-game injection. Following the match, Hodgson said he was confident, if managed correctly, that Zamora would be 100% for the final.

"The injection we gave him worked quite well but he was beginning to feel the effects in the second half," he said.

"Now we have two weeks to get him fit for the final. The problem will exist until he gets more treatment on it.

"But if I rest him for one or two of the league matches perhaps he will be fit for the final."
