AC Milan fullback Gianluca Zambrotta insists their squad can handle a title tilt.
Milan fans are upset with the lack of transfer spending this summer.
But Zambrotta counters: "I believe that Inter are still the team to beat. They are the strongest around, then we are together with Juventus and AS Roma.
"I believe that this is what it looks like on paper, but on the pitch things can change."
When asked about Milan's lack of activity on the transfer market, Zambrotta said: "It's not my job to be a director of sport.
"I believe that Milan are already competitive enough to fight on three fronts. I don't believe there is any need for particular investments.
"It was like this last year and then we did well and were challenging for the Scudetto.
"Allegri is a capable young Coach who has a lot to give. He'll do well."
