Gianluca Zambrotta has defended his form for AC Milan.

The fullback insists he always gave 100 per cent during the season.

"I didn't play much this year," explained the former Juventus ace. "I picked up one injury after the other but also Leonardo preferred other players to me.

"Still, I gave 110 per cent for Milan just like Gennaro Gattuso did.

"Not once did I give in and I always tried to back the manager without creating troubles in the team. This is my mentality and I am ready to prove it at the World Cup.

"Winning it twice wouldn't be a miracle. Even in 2006 we knew it was going to be difficult. But this Nazionale has a good mix between youngsters and veterans."
